Jazz Blues Fusion is the 17th album by the British blues musician John Mayall. As you can already see the title of the album, embarks this in a new and unfamiliar to him Genre - jazz. However, instead of just playing standard jazz, Mayall mixes this with his typical British blues. Many of John Mayall is therefore considered to be the creator of a new music style, jazz blues. But this is not true. He has, however, the modern Jazz Blues heavily influenced and shaped. Out came into his album is a mixture of slow, calm, quiet jazz blues and funky, fast jazz blues. As usual, many of the songs from Mayall's harmonica ( in the key of G major ) are dominated.
The cast his Bluesbreakers, meanwhile, had again changed completely, apart from bassist Larry Taylor are all musicians who play here for the first time with Mayall together on a plate. The band is made up of well-known artists of the modern funky jazz.
All songs were recorded live in Boston and New York City. Head of recording was Eddie Kramer, who also cut the songs and abmischte ( in the Electric Lady Studios). The photos of the album were taken by Nancy Throckmorton and Steve Katleman. For the design of John Mayall is responsible, who also wrote the songs and lyrics. The album was released in 1972 PolyGram Records, produced it was also by John Mayall.
