Jean Alexandre Barré

Jean -Alexandre Barré ( born May 25, 1880 in Nantes, † April 26, 1967 in Strasbourg ) was a French neurologist.

Life

Barré was from 1919 professor of neurology at the University of Strasbourg.

Services

He described in 1916 along with Georges Charles Guillain and André Strohl the polyradiculitis Guillain -Barre, which is the most important cause of acute paralysis as a result of inflammation today.
