Jean-Claude Perez

Jean -Claude Perez ( born March 31, 1964 in Carcassonne ) is a French politician. He is the National Assembly since 1997 deputy.

Perez studied in Toulouse psychology and began at that time with his political commitment to the Socialist Party. In 1983 he was elected chairman of the youth wing of his party in the Aude department. With his election as Deputy Mayor of Limoux in 1989, he gained his first political office. In 1991 he rose party internally to the first secretary of the PS in the Aude department. In the parliamentary elections in 1997, he entered the National Assembly in the first constituency of the department. As a parliamentarian, he was 2002, 2007 and 2012, re-elected. Perez, who was a member of the City Council of Carcassonne since 2001, was elected mayor of the city in 2009.
