Jean Crasset

Jean Crasset, SJ ( born January 3, 1618 Dieppe, † January 4, 1692 in Paris) was a French Catholic priest, theologian and Jesuit.

Life

Crasset came after he had already begun to study theology and prepare for the priesthood, in the 1638 and became Professor of Humanities and Philosophy, and later master of novices and Präses a Marian Congregation Jesuit Order.

He taught in Paris and wrote a number of spiritual and ascetical books. The influence of his work Devotion du Calvaire extends to the twentieth century. In German the work first appeared in 1710, most recently in 1960 under the German title Ecce homo: Reflections on the royal road of the Cross.
