Jean de Noailles

Louis -Paul -François de Noailles, duc d' Ayen since 1766, since 1793 5th duc de Noailles (* 1739, † 1824) served in the Army, but then turned to the natural sciences, particularly chemistry, and became in 1777 Member of the Academy of Sciences.

In 1792 he emigrated to Switzerland. In 1814 he returned to France and took his place as a peer of France.

He had no son and his title passed to his grandnephew Paul de Noailles.
