Jean Klein (spiritual teacher)

Jean Klein (* October 19, 1912 in Berlin, † 22 February 1998 in Santa Barbara, California ) was a French spiritual teacher of the Advaita - direction and writer. He grew up in Brno, Prague and Vienna, Klein studied medicine and musicology in Vienna and Berlin. In 1933 he settled in France, became a French citizen and was active during the war in the Resistance. After several years' residence in India he used from 1960 in Europe and North America, his spiritual teachings, influenced by Ramana Maharshi and Nisargadatta Maharaj and the Kashmiri Shaivism, in a style reminiscent of Krishnamurti.
