Jean-Louis Loday

Jean -Louis Loday (* January 12, 1946, † June 6, 2012 at Les Sables d'Olonne ) was a French mathematician.

Loday attended the Lycée Louis -le- Grand, and in 1963 was the nation's first in the Concours General in mathematics. From 1965 he studied at the Ecole Normale Superieure. In 1975, he was with Max Karoubi his doctorate at the University of Strasbourg (K- theory representations algébrique et de groupes ). He is Director of Research at CNRS and professor at the University of Strasbourg (IRMA ). He died in 2012 in a sailing accident.

Loday dealt with algebraic K-theory, algebraic topology, noncommutative geometry ( Cyclic homology) and algebra (theory of Operaden ).

In 1987 he received the Prix Francœur the Academie des Sciences.

He also published under the pseudonym of Guillaume William Zinbiel ( from the letter of Leibniz together), after which he named Zinbiel algebras.

His doctoral Christian Kassel heard.
