Jean Marsh

Jean Lyndsay Torren Marsh, OBE ( born July 1, 1934 at the London Borough of Hackney, England) is a British film and stage actress and screenwriter.

Life

Jean Marsh grew up in a middle class family. Her father was a commercial agent and her mother decorator at a small theater. Marsh was already at a young age on stage and worked as a youth occasionally as a model. She studied only as an adult drama and was in 1953 with the British crime film The Limping Man her debut as an actress.

In 1959 she moved for almost three years in the USA, where she was on Broadway in September of the same year John Gielguds adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing on the stage. However, in the U.S. they had only moderate success. Her best-known film at that time one of the epic film in 1963 produced Cleopatra, in which Marsh was seen in a supporting role.
