Jean Suau

Jean Suau (* 1503 in Rieumes, France, † April 29, 1566 in Rome ) was a Cardinal and Roman Catholic Bishop of Mirepoix.

Life

After studying the Heads of State and Canon Law of the clergy of the diocese Lombrès Auditor of the affairs of the Apostolic Palace and the Roman Rota in Rome. Pope Paul IV appointed him on December 20, 1555 to the Bishop of Mirepoix and at the same time created him cardinal priest. After he had been assigned on 13 January 1556 titular church of San Giovanni a Porta Latina, Pope Pius IV appointed him Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura. After he had changed as a Cardinal on the titular church of Santa Prisca on 26 April 1560 he resigned before the January 31, 1561 on his diocese. He died in the Apostolic Palace and was buried in the church of Santo Spirito in Sassia to Rome.
