Jeb Corliss Ray (* March 25, 1976 near Santa Fe, New Mexico) is a professional BASE jumper, wingsuit pilot, extreme athlete and television presenter.
In the documentary The Ground is the Limit, the Corliss Iiro Seppänen with turned to the Howick Falls in South Africa, is given as a reason for an accident of Corliss that he had driven shortly after take-off air flows into the waterfall. The consequences were severe spinal injuries and multiple other fractures.
April 27, 2006 Corliss attempted to jump from the Empire State Building. In disguise he was not recognized. After he had created on the 86th Floor parachute, helmet and camera, he climbed over the barrier, but was detained by security guards. He was sentenced in court to 3 years probation and 100 hours of community service, acquitted in the revision, however. The court reasoned, Corliss had experienced and been careful enough to perform the Base Jump, without endangering his own or others' lives. He later got banned for the Empire State Building.
Jeb Corliss published in 2011 the video Grinding The Crack in which he flies with a wingsuit from a mountain massif ( Hinterrugg, peaks of the Churfirsten, St. Galler Oberland, Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland ) in depth. At the edge of the shadow hole canyon it is less than two meters from the ground contact.
On January 16, 2012 Corliss jumped in the wingsuit from the edge of Table Mountain in Cape Town. When flying with the Wingsuit he touched with the legs of a rock edge. He survived with broken ankles and other leg injuries. Whether Corliss is displayed, because it has not had approval for the jumps, is decided by the management of the Table Mountain National Park.
Corliss planned, the first man, with a wingsuit from a great height without a parachute and unhurt to land on a drip rail. It seemed Gary Connery previously, the height jumped from 730 meters on 23 May 2012 with a wingsuit and landed on a 100 meter long and 15 meter wide sheet of 18,600 cartons.
