Jebba Power Station is a hydroelectric power plant in Nigeria. The power plant is located on the Jebba reservoir near the city Jebba, the Niger River, in the state of Kwara.

The power plant has a total capacity of 578.4 megawatts. The system consists of a total of six units with a capacity of 96.4 MW, of which only two units are operational status 2008. Construction began on 13 April 1985. Commissioned in 1993. Operators is the " Jebba Hydro Electric Plc ." The owner of the plant is the State Power Holding Company of Nigeria (short: PHCN ).

Specifications

  • Six water turbines type: Francis turbine with a maximum flow of 380 m³ / s per unit.
  • Six synchronous generators ( salient ) Type: Innenpolbauart with a rated voltage of 16 kV and a maximum electrical apparent power of 103.5 MVA. Each generator is connected to its own generator transformer, which transforms the 16 kV generator voltage to 330 kV high voltage for the overland supply of the interconnected system in Nigeria.
