Jeff VanderMeer

Jeff Vandermeer (born 7 July 1968 Pennsylvania) is an American author of fantastic stories.

With its working for the Peace Corps parents, he spent his childhood in the Fiji Islands. He studied at the University of Florida journalism first, then English, and finally Latin American history, his studies, however, did not complete. Later Vandermeer attended at Michigan State University writing seminars and in the student magazine Merlin 's Pen published articles on teaching creative writing. Vandermeer is one of the founding members of the Council for Literature of the Fantastic at the University of Rhode Iceland.

His works he referred to as magic realism and actually relate to, among other things, on the works of Jorge Luis Borges, Angela Carter and Vladimir Nabokov, also plays and builds Vandermeer to those for the current Anglo-American very exotic authors such as Alfred Kubin and Fritz of Herzmanovsky to Orlando.

Besides his work as a writer, he works as an editor for various publishers, and has worked as an editor of anthologies.

The city of saints and madmen
