Jeffrey Isaac

Jeffrey Isaac (* 1956 in New York) is a painter and video artist.

Life

He spent his childhood in Switzerland. He studied at the Rhode Iceland School of Design in New York and at the Camberwell School of Art in London. Since 1976, Jeffrey Isaac from his paintings in Switzerland, the USA, Italy and Germany. In New York he founded in 1979, the self-proclaimed smallest magazine in the world of its kind, the Public Illumination Magazine. In 1986 he moved to Umbria in the vicinity of the town of Spoleto. There he met the American artist Sol LeWitt, both shared a good friendship. In the years 1999 to 2006, Isaac devote more and more of video art. 2004, it comes in the town of Foligno, a scandal. Jeffrey Isaac chose the central procession to paint a banner showing the Holy Felicianus naked on a horse. In 2007 he designed an animation for the performance of Ellen Stewart of the play Gozzi e Goldoni europei at the 38th Biennale Teatro in Venice. 2009, a selection from this period was exhibited in the exhibition Detournement Venise the 53rd Biennale d' Arte in Venice.
