Western churches

As a motif in familiar Western images of religious art Jehudiel is very rare to find. After the beginning of the 16th century, a depiction of the seven angels was rediscovered on an ancient fresco in the church Sette Angeli in Palermo, Jehudiel came as one of the Seven willing to fight as a popular motif of Western art. However, such representations were soon repainted at the insistence of ecclesiastical authorities. In paintings and figures of the Baroque period Jehudiel is now and again to find eg on Empor images in the parish church Mattsies. A special feature is probably the Jehudiel from a series of Master Calamarca from Bolivia of approximately in 1750.
