Jehu Amaziah Orr

Jehu Amaziah Orr ( born April 10, 1828 Anderson County, South Carolina, † March 9, 1921 in Columbus, Mississippi) was a prominent politician of the Confederate States of America. He was a Presbyterian.

Born in South Carolina Jehu Amaziah Orr was the younger brother of James Lawrence Orr. Later Jehu moved to Mississippi, where he was in 1852 elected to the House of Representatives of the State. Orr was a member of the Secession Convention of 1861 Mississippi. In addition, he was also a deputy in the 1861-1862 provisional Konföderiertenkongress and 1864-1865 deputy in the second Konföderiertenkongress. After the American Civil War he served as a judge 1870-1876. He died on 9 March 1921 in Columbus, Mississippi, and was buried at the local Friendship Cemetery.
