Jemappes

Jemappes is a former village and since 1976 a district of Mons in the Belgian province of Hainaut, in the groves and the railway line Brussels - Vale with 11,322 inhabitants.

Here the battle of Jemappes took place on 6 November 1792. After the battle, the newly formed Department Jemappes was named in 1795.
