Jennifer Randerson, Baroness Randerson

Jennifer Elizabeth Randerson, Baroness Randerson ( born May 26, 1948) is a Welsh Liberal Democrat member of the House of Lords. Currently she holds the position of a junior minister in the Wales Office, its remit is education in Wales.

Randerson was mistress Council of the City Council of Cardiff and from 1999 to 2011 Member of the National Assembly for Wales. She was a member of the existing 2000-2003 Labour - Liberal Democrat government of Wales. 2011 Randerson was appointed Life Peer.

Biography

Randerson attended Bedford College, University of London and obtained in 1983 the degree of Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Biochemistry. From 1983 to 2000, Randerson lecturer at Cardiff Tertiary College. She took four years of the opposition in the City Council of Cardiff. The " Creative Future " plan, a development strategy for the Welsh language was developed by Randerson.

National Assembly for Wales

Randerson was Minister for Culture, Sport and the Welsh Language in the Liberal Democrat / Labour coalition government of 2000 to 2003. From 6 July 2001 to 13 June 2002, she held the post of Deputy First Minister for Wales. In the 2nd Welsh National Assembly Randerson acted for the Liberal Democrats as the spokesperson for Health and Social Affairs, Equality and finances. She ran in 2008 for the leadership of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, but lost against the gewähnlte with 60% of votes Kristiy Williams.

In the third Welsh National Assembly was Randerson spokesperson for the Liberal Democrats for education, transportation and the economy. It did not occur to Morezu the 2011 's election to the Welsh National Assembly. Nigel Howells, the candidate held her for the Liberal Democrats, lost to Jenny Rathbone.

House of Lords

In January 2011 Randerness was appointed as Baroness Randerson for Life Peer and introduced in the House of Lords on January 31, 2011. She is a member of the Liberal Democrats Group. On September 4, 2012 Randerson was appointed Parliamentary Under- Secretary of State at the Wales Office Randerson is the first female member of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, which holds a ministerial post in the British Parliament and the first member of the Welsh Liberal Democrats in a ministerial posts since Gwilym Lloyd - George 1945. It is also the first Welsh politician in a government post in the British Parliament, which is not provided by the Labour Party.
