Jenny Jones (Green politician)

Jenny Jones, Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb ( born December 23, 1949 in Brighton ) is a British politician and member of the Green Party of England and Wales. She studied archeology at University College London. Prior to her political career, she worked in the financial controlling and about ten years as an archaeologist. Since 1988 she has been a member of their party.

Since 2000 she has for her party in the London Assembly. In their work for the London Assembly their main focus was in the areas of transportation, housing and planning and in the field of police. From May 2003 to June 2004 she served as deputy mayor of London. Jones from 2006 to 2010, the only green councilor in the municipal council of London - Southwark. According to a list in the Evening Standard from 2011, it is one of the 1000 most influential people of London. You ran for office as Mayor of London for the 2012 election, while she received the third most votes share.

She sat down for a healthy food for schools, hospitals and other public facilities. Similarly, it is for better nutrition of poor people. With respect to homelessness and the high real estate prices in London, she was committed to affordable housing. A major step forward she could achieve traffic safety in the area, with a substantial reduction in traffic fatalities.

On September 20, 2013, it was raised to life peer with the title Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb, of Moulsecoomb in the County of East Sussex and thus a member of the House of Lords.
