Jens Kunath

Jens Kunath (born 15 February 1967 Lauchhammer ) is a former German football goalkeeper and current coach.

Career as a player

The qualified electrician Jens Kunath moved to DDR Oberliga 1985/86 season still as 18 -year-old in the squad of FC Hansa Rostock and debuted on November 2, 1985 in the league. After the descent of Rostock in just this season in the East German league Kunath remained at FC Hansa had, with seven inserts share of the re-emergence of Rostock and developed in the following season 1987/88 to the goalkeeper of FC Hansa in the big leagues. In the following season 1988/89 Kunath occupied with Rostock rank four of the league and thus qualified for the UEFA Cup in 1989/90, in the Kunath completed two games against Banik Ostrava, FC Hansa but was eliminated from the competition.

In the last season of the GDR Oberliga 1990/91, in Rostock for the first time in club history the championship and also won the fdgb Cup could, got Kunath competition in Hansa Gate by newcomer Daniel Hoffmann, so that both per 13 games in the championship and three games in the Cup completed - but the cup final played Hoffmann. There Kunath played until 1998 and then returned to Germany to regional league Eisenhüttenstädter FC steel, with whom he relegated to the Oberliga. After two additional one-year stops at FC Mallorca Topline and FC Anker Wismar ended his active career in 2001 Kunath.

Career as a coach

After ending his playing career took Kunath in 2001 as coach of gambling in the county class LSG Elmenhorst and reached with the club promotion to the District League. 2003 to 2006 he worked at the State division SV Warnemünde football.
