Jensen Interceptor (1950)

The first generation of Jensen Interceptor was built in 1950-1957 by the British automobile manufacturer Jensen. The term was later used in the 1966 -built Jensen Interceptor from again. The version from 1950 is today therefore referred to as Early Interceptor.

The technique of the vehicle based on components from Austin. The frame was a stretched version of the design from the Austin A70, engine and transmission came from Austin Sheerline. The unique design of the range has been designed by Eric Neale. The presented in the same year and equipped with a body of Jensen Austin A40 Sports resorted to these lines and looks like a smaller version of the Interceptor.

The two-door car was initially available as a convertible from 1950. The body made ​​of steel and aluminum plates were mounted on a wooden frame. As of 1952, the series was then available as a coupe. In the eight-year construction period a total of 88 vehicles were sold.
