Jeroen van der Veer

Jeroen van der Veer ( born October 27, 1947 in Utrecht, Netherlands) is a Dutch manager and was until June 2009 CEO of the largest company in the world to Royal Dutch Shell.

Life

Van der Veer studied at Delft University of Technology Mechanical Engineering in 1971 and made his degree in engineering. He then began studying economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, where he received the Master of Science. In 2005 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Port Harcourt ( Nigeria).

He is married and has three daughters.

Profession

Since 1971 he worked for the company Shell. In March 2007 it was announced that his contract should be extended until June 2009. He was the first Executive Director of Shell, who was employed on the 60th birthday.

Honors

After he was forced into retirement in 2009, received the Medal of Orange- Nassau was bestowed by Queen Beatrix. In 2010 he was made an honorary citizen of Singapore.
