Jerome W. Conn

Jerome W. Conn (* September 24, 1907 in New York City; † June 22, 1994 in Naples, Florida ) was an American endocrinologist.

Life

Conn first visited three years, the Rutgers University and enrolled in 1928 at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, which he completed in 1932. Here he married his wife Betty star, who stood by him in his clinical research later. Conn conducted research on diabetes associated with obesity and in 1935 assistant professor of internal medicine. In 1943 he took over the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism. He was appointed by the University of Michigan for LH Newburgh Distinguished University Professor in 1968. He retired in 1974, after he had written in his career, more than 250 scientific publications.

Conn's syndrome

He was known by the first description of primary hyperaldosteronism. The disease was named after his name Conn's syndrome.

Conn Registry

2006 a German Conn Registry was established with the aim of multicenter data collection to diagnosis, therapy and disease course of Conn's syndrome, in Munich.
