Jerzy Hawrylewicz

Jerzy Hawrylewicz ( born December 22, 1958 in Stettin, † 13 February 2009 in Oldenburg) was a Polish football player.

Life

Jerzy Hawrylewicz played in several clubs of his hometown of Szczecin and in 1985 with his former club Pogoń Szczecin Polish vice-champion. He set off from the communist Poland, and came into the winter break of the season 1987/88 to VfB Oldenburg in the Amateur Oberliga Nord. There he was with 15 goals in 32 missions leading scorer of the team and managed in 1990 promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.

In the 2nd Bundesliga, he came to a total of eleven missions. When used in the second men's team on 20 April 1992, the then 33 - year-old suffered during the game against the Hanover SC on the court a heart attack and had to be resuscitated by coach Klaus -Peter Nemet. His brain was supplied with cardiac arrest for a few minutes with oxygen and thus assumed great harm, whereupon his life he suffered the vegetative state.

In 1995 he was released from the rehabilitation hospital and since then cared for by his wife Ewa. For Hawrylewicz it had since been several charity events. In addition to old and new players VfB Oldenburg in particular the Polish boxing champion Dariusz Michalczewski and FC Bayern Munich had used for him.

Jerzy Hawrylewicz died on 13 February 2009 and was survived by his wife and three children.
