Jerzy Materna

Jerzy Materna ( born March 25, 1956 in Zielona Góra ) is a Polish politician and since 2005 member of the Sejm in the V. and VI. Legislature.

In 1983 he finished his studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technical University of Zielona Góra. From 1984 to 1990 he worked as a construction manager in a municipal building and renovation operation. After that, he held senior responsibilities in private companies and led his own company. For some years until 2002, he was a town councilor of Zielona Góra.

After 1993 he was a member of the Catholic right-wing conservative Porozumienie Centrum ( center - agreement - PC), after which he joined the Prawo i Sprawiedliwość ( Law and Justice - PiS) at. In the 2005 parliamentary elections, he was elected on the list of PiS for the electoral district of Zielona Góra in the Sejm. The Sejmwahlen 2007, he was confirmed for the PiS with 14,597 votes as a Member. He belongs to the Sejm commissions for infrastructure and EU affairs.
