Jesse Lowen Shearer

Shearer received his doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT ) and was there from 1950 to 1963 a member of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, where he worked on the Dynamic Analysis and Control Laboratory. From 1963 until his retirement in 1985 he was professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Pennsylvania State University. He was also a member of the Dynamic Systems and Control Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME ).

Awards

In 1965, he finally received the Donald P. Eckman Award of the Instrument Society of America, 1966 Charles Russ Richards Memorial Award of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Rufus Oldenburger Medal 1983 of the ASME.
