Jesza Poszony

Imre Pozsonyi ( born December 12, 1880 in Budapest, † April 1932 in New York), also known as Jesza Poszony, was a Hungarian football player and coach.

Career

In his playing career Pozsonyi played as a center forward for Magyar T, MTK Budapest FC and once for the Hungarian national team. The latter was the first official international match of Hungary, a 0:5 against Austria in 1902.

In 1921, he became coach of Cracovia Krakow, with whom he won the first discharged Polish Championship in the same year for 2 years. In 1924 he was appointed coach of FC Barcelona. In his only season at FC Barcelona, he won the Spanish Cup and the Catalan Championship. Between 1926 and 1928 he coached (later known as Dinamo Zagreb), which he led to the Yugoslav Championship in 1928 the Yugoslav club Građanski Zagreb.

In the late twenties Pozsonyi emigrated to America, where he 1929/30, in Mexico the Real Club España led to the championship in 1932 and died in the United States.
