Jiaolong (submersible)

The Jiaolong is a Chinese manned research submarine, which is 8.20 meters long and 22 tons. The name comes from that found in a saga sea dragon (see " Long"). The submarine was tested for the first time in summer 2010 in the South China Sea. It is used for deep-sea research.

After the " Jiaolong " penetrated up to 3795 meters depth before with 17 dives to depths it reached on 27 July 2011, a three-person crew in the Pacific during a six-hour dive to a depth of 5057 meters and 7,062 meters in June 2012; this is an all-time record for China. Designed the U - boat for a maximum depth of 7000 meters. It is equipped with devices for recording video and photos and has a device for collecting samples. Thanks to an autopilot -like control mechanism, the 2 -meter diving ball can be moved out of titanium at a constant distance to the sea floor.
