Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck ( Dzongkha: འཇིགས་མེད་གེ་སར་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་དབང་ཕྱུག་, Long form: Trongsa Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk Penlop, Wylie transliteration: ' jigs med rgyal dbang rnam ge sar phyug; born February 21, 1980) is since December 9, 2006 King of Bhutan and successor of his father Jigme Singye Wangchuck. Youth and Education

Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck is the eldest son of the previous King Jigme Singye Wangchuck and Queen Ashi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck. He received his education first with other children in Bhutan and then attended the boarding Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, north of Worcester, Massachusetts. Prince and King of Bhutan
