Jill Sobule
Jill Sobule ( born January 16, 1961 in Denver, Colorado) is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Her most famous songs are the radio hit I Kissed a Girl and Supermodel from the soundtrack to the film Clueless - What else!.
History
The debut album Things Here Are Different was published in 1990. During the following sixteen years, she has published five more albums, three EPs and a greatest hits album. Despite good reviews it has never gone beyond the status of insider tips.
In 2000, Sobule played in the short-lived band The Negatives by Lloyd Cole.
In 2004, she played one of the five main roles in the film Mind The Gap.
Style
Sobule combines virtuoso guitar playing with partly ironic, partly autobiographical -influenced texts in which it, for example, homosexuality (I Kissed A Girl), anorexia ( supermodel and Lucy at the Gym) or the relationship between Christians and Jews ( Jesus was a Dreidel Spinner ) goes.
