Jim Eadie (politician)

Jim Eadie ( born February 10, 1968) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party. Eadie attended the Waverley Secondary School and then studied at the University of Strathclyde. He then worked amongst others for the Royal College of Nursing and Scottish Television (STV). 2002 Eadie was Chairman of the Scottish branch of the British trade union of the pharmaceutical industry ABPI. Since 2008 he works as an independent consultant.

For the first time Eadie approached to national elections in the parliamentary elections of 2011. In his constituency, Edinburgh Southern, he won at once the highest share of the vote and thus replaced the Liberal Democrats, Mike Pringle, who was able to achieve the mandate of the predecessor constituency of Edinburgh South in the previous two elections for themselves. Since 2011, Eadie is thus for the first time a member of the Scottish Parliament.
