Jim Grimsley

Jim Grimsley (* 1955 in Pollocksville, Jones County ( North Carolina)) is an American writer. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

Grimsleys first novel, Winter Birds (German: Winter birds) first appeared in 1992 in a Swiss publishing in German before it was published in the U.S. in 1994 and there a year later the Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction won. His second novel, Comfort and Joy (English: Life among the stars ), was published in 1993 first in German before it was published six years later in the USA. His third novel, published in 1995 Dream Boy won the Stonewall Book Award. 1997 Grimsley was named to " Georgia Author of the Year ". In recent years he has turned his attention increasingly to writing science fiction stories. For the first two volumes of a SF trilogy Kirith Kirin (2000), The Ordinary (2004) and The Last Green Tree (2006) he was awarded the Lambda Literary Award, respectively.

Dream Boy was filmed in 2008 by James Bolton.
