Jim Lee

Jim Lee ( born August 11, 1964 in Seoul, South Korea) is an American comic book artist and publisher.

He began his career as Tuscher, but was famous as a signatory to the " Marvel Comics " series Uncanny X -Men in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The series X -Men was launched after his great success for him and author Chris Claremont 1991. X -Men # 1 is still the best-selling American comic book of all time. After Claremont's early departure Lee also took over briefly the role of the author of the series.

1992 Lee left Marvel and founded with six other artists ( Todd McFarlane, Marc Silvestri, Erik Larsen, Rob Liefeld, Jim Valentino and Whilce Portacio ) Image Comics. Lee's Studio within Image was christened Wildstorm and one of the more successful Image Studios. His series WildC.A.T.S. was one of the first Image series and a great commercial success.

Lee and Liefeld returned 1996-1997 briefly to Marvel back in order to implement a Heroes Reborn baptized event. Lee took over the actions of the series Fantastic Four and Iron Man for a year and drew former title also Liefeld got the title Captain America and The Avengers. While Liefeld was early fired from Marvel, Lee was able to finish the year, but finished after also working with Marvel.

2001 Lee left Image and sold Wildstorm to DC Comics, after negotiations with Marvel had failed. Lee had been some time mainly worked as a publisher and only sporadically drawn Cover Illustrations and Pin-Ups. In 2003 he returned to the drawing board and created together with writer Jeph Loeb with " Hush " is a twelve-part, highly successful, Batman history. In 2004 he was with Brian Azzarello Superman. In mid-2005 appeared in DC the first issue of his co-production with another heavyweight of the American comic scene, Frank Miller: "All Star Batman & Robin the Boy Wonder ".
