Jim Lehrer

James Charles "Jim" teachers ( born May 19, 1934 in Wichita, Kansas) is an American journalist and news anchor of the television station Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). Since 1970 he is Anchorman, initially for a local station in Dallas, Texas, since 1973 the National Public Broadcast Service. From 1975 his repeatedly refined message formats are named after him.

He is regarded as particularly neutral and independent, a good interviewer and was as dean of moderators (such as " the Dean of Moderators " ) referred. Since 1988, he has been selected, individual or moderate all televised debates in the presidential election campaign.

He was awarded in 1999 by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Humanities Medal. Teacher wrote as an author both nonfiction and fictional works.
