Jimmy Bilsbury

James Robert " Jimmy" Bilsbury ( born November 2, 1942 in Liverpool, † March 10, 2003 in Bonn ) was an English singer and composer, known as co-author, member and frequent soloist of Les Humphries Singers.

Career

Bilsbury performed with groups such as the Ray Johnson Skiffle Group, The Nightboppers, The Beat Boys, The Sabres and the hammer on and sang and wrote for The Magic Lanterns.

In 1970 he founded with Les Humphries Les Humphries Singers. He was there lead singer of many titles and was also one of the 6köpfigen selection, which took on Germany in 1976, the Euro Vision Song Contest with the song title singsong so but finished only 15th.

Besides Dorco German and Joe Menke Bilsbury was also a co-author on the title of Belfast Boney M..

For years, heavy alcohol dependent, the former millionaire Bilsbury was impoverished at the end and lived on welfare. In 2003 he was found dead in his 8 m² rooms of Bonn shelter for the homeless. The autopsy showed that he was three days earlier, died of heart failure. His body was cremated and the ashes buried in Forest Cemetery Gauting at a ceremony in which he wrote his then 16 - year-old son was present.
