The Jinghong Dam is a gravity dam made ​​of rolled concrete ( RCC) on the upper reaches of the Mekong River, which is called Lancang in China, in Jinghong in Yunnan Province, China. The main purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power production; serves a power plant with a capacity of 1750 megawatts. A portion of the electrical energy generated is sold to Thailand.
