The hydropower plant Jinping II (Chinese锦屏 二级 水电站, Pinyin Jinping Erji Shuidian Zhan ) or the Jinping II dam is one property under construction large hydroelectric power plant on the " Jinping bend " of the Yalong Jiang in Sichuan, People's Republic of China. Construction began in January 2007 and when completed in 2014, the power plant is rated at 8 x 600 = 4800 MW have. According to other data, there are 8 times 550 MW = 4400 MW.

While the 7.5 km upstream lying Jinping -I Dam has a much larger shut-off and serves with its large reservoir of water supply, dams Jinping II a rather small reservoir, and is mainly used for electricity generation from hydropower.

At the bend in the river, the conditions are very favorable for hydropower. The river comes to a flow of 150 km up to 16 km on its course back and there between the two sides has a slope of 310 m. The river is dammed at the western side of the bend of a only 37 m high and 162 m long weir-like dam. The water is passed through four 16.6 km long headrace tunnel to the power station. There it drives eight Francis turbines. The two hydropower plants Jinping I and Jinping II together with 8400 MW had been planned for 1965.
