Jiří Teml

Jiří Teml (* June 24, 1936 in Vimperk ) is a Czech composer.

Teml first attended the Commercial College and worked as an economist. In the 1960s and 1970s, he took private lessons in music theory and composition with Bohumil Dusek and Jiři Jaroch. For the appassionata Fantasia for organ, he was awarded the Prague Spring with a third party price. From 1976 to 1980 he was music dramaturg and director of the music department at the Czechoslovak Radio in Plzen, 1980 Music dramaturge at Radio Prague. Teml composed, inter alia, three symphonies, concerti grossi and instrumental concertos, chamber music and works for solo instruments, choral works, including several for children's choir, and two children's operas ( The Emperor's New Clothes by Hans Christian Andersen and Puss in Boots, librettist for both: Jan Tůma ).
