Jo Durie

Jo Durie ( born July 27 1960 in Bristol) is a former British tennis player.

Career

She became a professional tennis player in 1978 and was able to reach the semifinals of the French Open and the U.S. Open as the greatest successes as a single player in 1983. She was also a quarter- finalist at the Australian Open and Wimbledon in 1984. Their highest placement on the world tennis rankings as a single player was ranked fifth

With Jeremy Bates, she won the 1987 Wimbledon Mixed Competition in 1991 and the mixed at the Australian Open. They also won four doubles titles in her career.

Jo Durie in 1995 came back from professional tennis tournament. After her career she has been a regular commentator on games Tenniskommentatorin and the WTA Tour for Euro Sports International. However, it is still playing at the invitation tournaments such. e.g. the senior double at Wimbledon.
