Joachim Persson

Joachim Persson (born 23 May 1983; Slagelse, Denmark ) is a Danish badminton player who competed for Germany to the junior age. His younger brother is playing for Germany Nikolaj Persson.

Career

Joachim Persson in 2001 and 2002 Junior Champion in Germany, but then moved to neighboring Denmark. For his new home, he won among others the Finnish International, Swedish International Stockholm, Austrian International and the Irish Open. In 2008, he scored his biggest successes. So he moved into the finals of the European Championships in Herning and played among other things the final of the Denmark Open in Odense and the semifinals of the Japan Open in Tokyo, where he defeated the Olympic champion of 2004 and the 2005 World Champion, Taufik Hidayat from Indonesia,. In addition, he won his first tournament victory in the category of Grand Prix with a victory at the Bulgarian Open. His highest world ranking position in that year was the 6th place.
