Joan Antidea Thouret

Johanna Antida Thouret ( born November 27, 1765 in Sancey -le-Long, France, † August 24, 1826 in Naples, Italy ) was a French foundress. She is worshiped in the Catholic Church as a saint.

Johanna joined the Vincentians age of 22, but had to leave because of the revolution in France. She tried in vain to establish a monastery in Germany. In 1799 she founded the Congregation of the Daughters Besançon love of Besançon, as the Grey Nuns are also known. The Order, the 1818 papal confirmed cares about young girls and other charitable works.

Johanna was instituted by Pope Pius XI. Beatified in 1926 and canonized in 1934.
