Joanna Majdan-Gajewska

Joanna Maidan - Gajewska ( born Joanna Maidan, born June 9, 1988 in Koszalin ) is a Polish chess player and Women's Grandmaster ( WGM ) since 2009.

Chess

Joanna Maidan - Gajewska won several times medals at the Polish Junior Championships. In 1998 she won in Krynica -Zdrój a bronze medal in the under 10 years. 2002, there was a gold medal at the national championships under 14.

Also in 2002, she finished fourth at the World Youth Championships U14 in Heraklion. In 2004, she finished second at the World Youth Championships U16. In 2005 she won third place in Belfort in the World Youth Championships U18.

In 2006, she won the gold medal at the Polish Youth Championship U20. In 2008, she was first in the Polish Championships U20 and won a silver medal in the Individual Championship of Polish women.

In 2011 she was runner-up in Porto Carras at the European Team Championships.

Chess Olympiads

Since 2006 she has represented Poland at the Chess Olympiads, namely in Turin in 2006, 2008 in Dresden and at the Chess Olympiad 2010 in Khanty-Mansiysk. In Dresden, she won a gold medal on board 4 with 9.5 points from 11 games.

German Chess Bundesliga Women

Since 2010 she plays in the German Chess Bundesliga Women for the SV Chemie Guben.

  • 2010/2011 - 1st Bundesliga for the crew of the SV Chemie Guben ( 7.5 points from 9 games on board 1)
  • 2010/2012 - 1st Bundesliga for the crew of the SV Chemie Guben ( also on first board )

Others

Her husband (pictured right) is grandmaster Grzegorz Gajewski and also a Polish chess player.

Your previous highest score reached in January 2012 with an Elo rating of 2387 points. The proposal is therefore to place 77 of the women's world rankings and third among the Polish chess players, behind Monika Socko and Iweta Rajlich.
