Joanna Pacuła
Joanna Pacula ( born January 2, 1957 in Tomaszów Lubelski, Poland ) is a Polish-American actress.
Life and achievements
Pacula graduated from the Theatre Academy in Akademia Teatralna. Aleksandra Zelwerowicza (then Państwowa Wyższa SzkoĹ Teatralna ) in Warsaw. From 1979 to 1981 she appeared in the Warsaw theater Teatr Dramatyczny.
Her first role in a movie was playing in camouflage colors Pacula ( 1977) by Krzysztof Zanussi. She was also seen in the TV series.
When the state of emergency was declared on 13 December 1981 in Poland, Pacula be held in Paris. She befriended there by Roman Polanski in, offered her some jobs as a model. The pictures of Pacula have been published on the covers of magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Harper 's Bazaar and Vogue.
In 1982, Pacula traveled to the United States, where she remained permanently. For her role in the thriller Gorky Park (1983 ), in which she starred alongside William Hurt, Lee Marvin and Brian Dennehy, she was nominated in 1984 for a Golden Globe Award. For her starring role in the horror film The Kiss ( 1988) she was nominated for the 1990 Saturn Award. In the film drama men and lovers (1992 ), she took alongside Julian Sands one of the main roles. In the family film No Place Like Home (2001) it can be seen alongside Judge Reinhold, in the action film The Cutter (2005) she played alongside Chuck Norris.
