Joe Abercrombie

Joe Abercrombie ( born December 31, 1974 in Lancaster) is an English author of fantasy novels. In the German-speaking world, he became known by war blades, the first part of a trilogy that continued with fire blades and blade king. So far published three more based in the same fantasy world novels: 2009 Best Served Cold ( German revenge blades ), 2011 The Heroes (German heroes blades) and 2012 Red Country (German blood blades).

Life

Joe Abercrombie was born in 1974 in the English Lancaster. He studied psychology at the University of Manchester and worked after graduating in London as a freelance screenwriter.

After he had worked during his student days at a fantasy trilogy about a barbarian hero, he took this idea back in 2002. Abercrombie finished the first part of The Blade Itself in 2004, the novel was published two years later in the British publisher Gollancz. Since 2007, the Heyne publishing house brings the First Law trilogy out in German. The translation is by Kirsten Borchardt. Were also made translations into other European languages ​​. From the criticism of his novels were well received.

Abercrombie has completed three further volumes due to the success of the trilogy, which are located in the same world ( Best Served Cold and The Heroes and Red Country ). In January 2011, he signed a contract for four more books with the publisher, Gollancz, where it is an independent story and a trilogy.
