Joe Johnston

Joseph "Joe" Johnston ( born May 13, 1950 in Fort Worth, Texas ) is an American designer and director.

Life and career

During his studies, he answered the mid-70s on an ad and then got to know George Lucas, who was just looking for people for the production of a great sci-fi project. As an assistant, he watched the development of the script for the first Star Wars movie. Although he wanted to get off at times, he was instrumental in developing the characters Yoda and Boba Fett.

After attending USC film school with Lucas Recommendation 1977 Johnston was one of the main designer on Star Wars and the subsequent Star Wars and Ewoks movies. Also on the Indiana Jones films of Lucas and Steven Spielberg, he was involved.

End of the 80s he turned to directing their own projects. After the hit comedy Honey, I Shrunk the Kids ( 1989) and the staff at Zeichentrick-/Realfilm Pagemaster (1994 ), he was directing The Lost World: Jurassic Park lead, but was not finished with Jumanji. In the third part, six years later, he finally came to the course, then followed Hidalgo with Viggo Mortensen.
