Joel Godard

Joel Godard ( born March 31, 1938 in Milledgeville, Baldwin County, Georgia) was until the end of the show in 2009, the announcer of the American television show Late Night with Conan O'Brien. He often took part in the show skits in which he is a fictionalized version of himself.

Godard attended Emory University and left it with a degree in chemistry. He was admitted to the associated medical school, but he decided instead to go into show business. Since 1999, Godard also works as a presenter of the annual NBC TV program at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

In Late Night with Conan O'Brien, he was often depicted in sketches as rampant homosexual person with a clear preference for young Asian men. His character often requires "the sweet release of death," and demonstrates how miserable his life is ("My life is a septic tank filled to overflowing "). These properties but it will never bring in his merry announcements, as well as during its wide, open smile to light. In his sketches he commits suicide regularly, usually by hanging. Private Godard, however, happily married since 1983 and has one child.
