Joey Goebel

His works deal with in a satirical way, the idiosyncrasies of pop culture in the Midwestern United States. He criticizes his perception by bland mediocrity of small-town life from the perspective of alienated citizens.

Life

Joey Goebel was born in 1980 as the son of Adam and Nancy Goebel Bingemer. Both the parents and his older sister CeCe are social workers. With five years he wrote his first story. Before with The Anomalies (name of the German version: Freaks ) 2003 published his first novel, he was the frontman, guitarist and songwriter of the punk band The Mullets and toured between 1996 and 2001 by the Midwestern United States. Later he was a singer and guitarist with the band Novembrists, with whom he released a CD.

2005 Vincent was published as his first book in German language. There followed in 2006 Freaks, 2009 and 2013 Heartland I against Osborne. All four novels were published by Diogenes.

Goebel has a BA in English Studies from Brescia College in Owensboro, Kentucky and graduated from the University of Louisville a Master of Fine Arts degree in "Creative Writing" from.
