Johann Georg Weishaupt

Johann Georg Weishaupt ( born April 24, 1716 in Brilon, † September 20, 1753 in saint Thal bei Würzburg ) was a German legal scholar and professor of law at the University of Ingolstadt.

Life

He studied law in Würzburg Johann Adam von Ickstatt. Prince-Bishop Friedrich Karl von Schönborn- Buchheim appointed him public Corepitor the rights and the extraordinary teacher of legal history. Thus he decided to pursue the academic teaching profession. In 1743 he received a doctorate in law. and devoted his dissertation to the Prince-Bishop.

A short time later he moved probably under the influence Ickstatts to the University of Ingolstadt. There he took a law professor, a position he held until his death. He teaching institutions, criminal law and general legal history. One of his pupils was Johann Georg von Lori.

He was also closely associated with family Ickstatt, he had married his daughter. Ickstatt also took over the sponsorship of the son of Johann Adam Weishaupt. Weishaupt died suddenly while on holiday.
