Johann Gottlieb Janitsch

Johann Gottlieb Janitsch ( born June 19, 1708 Schweidnitz, † 1763 in Berlin) was a German composer.

Life

Johann Gottlieb Janitsch, who came from a middle class family, received his first musical education at the grammar school of his native city. In nearby Breslau he could expand his musical knowledge at the present there Kurmainzer court orchestra musicians. On his father's wish he studied from 1729-1733 Law at the University of Frankfurt on the Oder, where he received the first orders to write festive music. In 1733 he became secretary of the Minister Franz Wilhelm von Happe. From 1736 he was a chamber musician with Crown Prince Frederick in Schloss Rheinberg. Here he organized with the permission of the Crown Prince, the so-called " Friday academies " in which the bourgeoisie also had the pleasure of works of court orchestra. As belonging to the " first Capell servants " of the newly founded Berlin court orchestra, he was from 1740 Contra violinist at a salary of 350 thalers. In Berlin he continued this tradition in the form of a weekly concert in which Royal, princely, Markräfliche chamber and other clever Privatmusicis and lovers played music in public. Current Music Association was the first of a series of similar organizations that emerged after 1750 in Berlin. Thus Janitsch continued to the beginning of the detachment from the court toward the bourgeois concert events.

1749, he married Johanna Henriette Eymer, adopted daughter of Privy Councillor and Mayor Emil Nicolai Albrecht.

Jani Tschs works correspond to the gallant and sensitive style of the first half of the 18th century. Until the 1740s, he composed predominantly four-movement trio sonatas in the form of the church sonata ( slow-fast - slow-fast ), from 1750 almost exclusively three-movement works in the form of quartets (3 upper voices and basso continuo ) in different compiled stringed and wind instruments. Many works were printed during his lifetime Jani Tschs from the publisher Breitkopf. Many manuscripts are kept in the back accessible since 1999 archive of the Sing -Akademie zu Berlin.

The composer Johann Wilhelm Hertel expressed himself even years after Jani Tschs death: " He was a good Contrapunktist and his quartets are still currently the best examples of this kind ."
