Johann Gottlieb Preller
Johann Gottlieb Preller ( born March 9, 1727 at Upper Roßla Apolda, † March 21, 1786 in Dortmund), also written Breller, was a German choirmaster, composer and land surveyor.
Life
About the musical education Preller is not known. Perhaps he was a pupil of Johann Nicolaus Apolda Mempel, after which the joint authorship of the Mempell - Preller handwriting suggesting. Preller studied from 1750 at the University of Jena. 1753 or 1754, he was appointed as cantor to Dortmund and there founded a Collegium Musicum.
