Johann Wolfgang Baumgartner

Johann Wolfgang Baumgartner ( * 1702 in Ebbs, Tirol, † September 7, 1761 in Augsburg ) was an Austro- German Rococo painter.

Life

Born Johann Wolfgang Baumgartner in Tyrol and Salzburg he learned in the reverse glass painting. After he moved his sphere of influence by Bavarian Swabia, he is attributed to the Augsburg school.

As the largest and most important work Baumgartners the ceiling painting is seen in the Sanctuary of the Holy Cross of the former monastery mountains.
